Sobre a decadência ecológica e o perecimento da ontologia

Abstract

Este ensaio persegue o elementar objetivo de penetrar a grave crise ecológica com que a humanidade se depara, tentando, para o efeito, demonstrar o paralelismo entre o acréscimo da degradação ambiental e a progressiva degradação axiológica da espécie humana. Esta reflexão, que gravita em torno da obra Louvado Sejas: Carta Encíclica Laudato si’ sobre o cuidado da casa comum, procura debater o dramático conflito entre a vontade de dominação do homem e a urgente necessidade de um compromisso ecológico. Embora o trabalho se edifique a partir da leitura do referido texto, não existe qualquer predicação ou apologia religiosa no decurso da investigação. Dito isto, o argumentário da mesma pode ser acolhido por todos aqueles que nutrem interesse pelo estudo da ética ambiental, independentemente do seu posicionamento religioso. Com o intuito de promover uma analítica totalizante, o ensaio invoca um diálogo pluralista e multidisciplinar, contrapondo, quando necessário, linhas de pensamento antitéticas.
