Abstract

🇬🇧 Without Guarantee Without Guarantee is a work of contemporary literary narrative exploring the fragility of human relationships and the invisible conditions that make shared life possible. Through a restrained and fragmentary style, the book develops an ontological reflection on care and intergenerational responsibility, engaging with the fields of ethics of care and the phenomenology of everyday life. The text begins from a fundamental insight: life does not originate in autonomy, but in prior forms of support that often remain unnoticed. Before consciousness emerges, silent structures of care, hospitality, and transmission already sustain the world we inhabit. Within this perspective, hospitality is not understood as a voluntary gesture but as a structural condition of existence—an anticipation that precedes the subject and whose continuity can never be fully guaranteed. Care therefore appears as an ontological category before becoming a moral one. It is not an added virtue, but an originary mode of relationality linking body, time, and memory. The work explores the point at which fragility and responsibility intersect, suggesting that visible stability rests upon an invisible economy of wear, waiting, and transmission. Situated at the intersection of contemporary literature, ethics of care, and the phenomenology of everyday life, Without Guarantee examines the tension between autonomy and dependence, presence and absence, continuity and displacement. Rather than proposing a normative theory, the text inhabits the uncertainty inherent in inheritance: what we receive without noticing and whose preservation requires a form of attention that can never be fully secured.
