Abstract

El texto estudia la interpretación que Francisco Martínez de la Rosa hizo de los comuneros durante los años 1813 y 1814. Se centra en una obra de teatro, La viuda de Padilla, y en textos que lo acompañaron. Muestra así que un episodio del pasado le permitió ilustrar la naturaleza de su liberalismo y la presentación que hizo de España como nación. Todo ello en el contexto clave de la Guerra de Independencia y las Cortes de Cádiz.
