Limnological parameters related to seasonal differences and potential biological drivers of the methane paradox in Lake Attersee and Mondsee, Austria

Abstract

This dataset contains the raw data related to the investigation of seasonal differences and potential biological drivers of the methane paradox in Lake Attersee and Mondsee, Austria. Lakes were sampled in July 2024, November 2024, April 2025, and June 2025. The dataset consists of five excel files containing high-resolution water column profiles of environmental parameters, laboratory measurements of nutrients and cell abundances, underwater light intensity data, 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing data, and stable isotope labelling experimental results. The 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing raw data is available at the Sequence Read Archive under the Bioproject Accession PRJNA1422683.
