This dataset supports the article: Oskar J. Rojewski and José Eloy Hortal Muñoz, “The Reception of Burgundian Tradition through a Court of Travelling Sovereigns: Courtiers of Philip the Fair during His Sojourn in the Iberian Peninsula (1501–1503)”, published in Publication du Centre Européen d’Études Bourguignonnes (XIVe–XVIe s.), no. 65 (2025), pp. 371–383. The dataset contains primary source materials, transcriptions, quantitative data, and bibliographic references used to analyse the composition, organisation, and dynamics of the Burgundian court accompanying Archduke Philip the Fair during his first journey to the Iberian Peninsula between 1501 and 1503. It focuses on the structure of the travelling household and its role in the transmission of Burgundian courtly models to the Spanish monarchy, including painters as company of the court. The dataset draws on archival records preserved in the Archives Générales du Royaume in Brussels (Belgium). These documents record court personnel, institutional affiliation, remuneration, and changes in the size and structure of the household during and after the journey. The dataset includes tabulated data derived from the ordinances and wage registers, enabling quantitative comparison of court offices and personnel across different moments of the journey. A full bibliography of the primary and secondary sources used in the research is provided. The dataset was compiled as part of the same research project as the article and was prepared with the support of the National Centre for Science, Poland, under Grant Agreement No. 2022/47/D/HS2/01798.

Contents of the Dataset Document Scans: Digital scans (PDF format) of original archival materials, including wage registers and court ordinances (états journaliers de gages). Each file is accompanied by full archival references specifying repository, collection, and document date. Quantitative Data: Tabulated datasets derived from the wage registers and ordinances, enabling quantitative comparison of court offices, personnel, remuneration, and institutional affiliations across different moments of the journey. These tables support analysis of changes in the size and structure of the travelling household. Bibliographic References: A structured bibliography listing all primary and secondary sources consulted in the course of the research. All data were collected and prepared in accordance with the ethical and legal guidelines of the funding body and the archival institutions involved. Permissions for digitization and scholarly dissemination were obtained from the relevant archives.
