Abstract

Este texto estende a investigação de Petter (2008) e defende a existência de um continuum linguístico, constituído pelas línguas crioulas de Cabo Verde, Guiné-Bissau, São Tomé e Príncipe e outras variedades de língua portuguesa, como a angolana, brasileira e moçambicana. A proposta fundamenta-se nos conceitos de imposição de F. van Coetsem (2000) e de convergência de Myers-Scotton (2002), que demonstram serem semelhantes os processos que atuam em toda situação de contato linguístico.
