
El 21 de agosto de 1529, por orden de Carlos V, se nombraba a Rodrigo de Portuondo capitán de las galeras de la flota del Reino de Granada. En una de las cláusulas se estipulaba que en cada una de las ocho galeras que la formaban hubiera dos trompetas. On 21 August 1529, by order of Charles V, Rodrigo de Portuondo was appointed captain of the galleys of the fleet of the Kingdom of Granada. One of the clauses stipulated that there were to be two trumpets in each of the eight galleys that made up the fleet.
