This dataset contains the full curricular analysis conducted for the study “The Language of Engineers: Assessing Preparation for Workplace English Communication Requirements in Turkish Engineering Curricula.” It includes all coded course-level data from 10 Turkish universities (2,156 courses), the complete coding scheme, the variable-level codebook, and extracted communicative task and CDF (Cognitive Discourse Function) data. The materials document how each course was analyzed for: explicit and implicit promotion of English communication skills, academic vs. workplace-oriented communication focus, presence of communicative tasks, and occurrence of CDF verbs based on Dalton-Puffer (2013). All datasets are provided in Excel format along with a detailed codebook to support transparency, replicability, and further research.
