Abstract: This study analyzes the therapeutic impacts of acquiring the ability to tact private events through Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), based on Behavior Analysis. The theoretical and qualitative research discusses how verbal behavior—especially the operant "tact"—can be promoted in a therapeutic setting, considering the role of social rules and behavioral regulatory agencies. Through a literature review, concepts such as reinforcement, punishment, and Clinically Relevant Behaviors (CRBs) are explored. The results indicate that FAP favors the development of more sensitive and functional verbal repertoires, promoting self-awareness and reducing suffering. The conclusion is that FAP is effective in facilitating the emission of tacts for private events, especially when historically punished or neglected.
