DAFNEE, a Database of Academia Friendly jourNals in Ecology and Evolution, is a project aimed at promoting the use of non-profit, learned society, or university-associated journals. It provides a list of these journals and tools to assess a researcher's "DAFNEE usage index," which is the proportion of their publications in these journals. The archive consists of all the files necessary to reproduce a running web site as in https://dafnee.isem-evolution.fr/ : * **A curated list of ethical journals:** `journals/ethical_journals.tsv` * **A Shiny app for browsing the database and calculating the DAFNEE index:** `app.R` * **A python's Streamlit app with similar functionalities:** `streamlit_app.py` * **A Python script to generate (offline) an HTML report of DAFNEE usage for a list of authors:** `dafnee_browser.py` * **A helper R script with functions to interact with the OpenAlex API:** `OpenAlex.r`
