L'enseignement comme un travail social « au plein sens du terme » ? Réflexions à partir d'un rapport sur le demain d'hier

Abstract

Ce texte présente une lecture libre et ouverte qui cherche des questions pour aujourd'hui, éventuellement pour demain, dans un rapport d'hier. Sans avoir jamais entendu parler du rapport LEMO avant d'être sollicité, j'ai accepté de chercher à partager une réflexion dans le cadre de ce volume anniversaire. N'étant ni historien ni spécialiste des politiques d'éducation, je m'exprime ici surtout comme formateur impliqué dans l'actualité de la formation à l'enseignement primaire et comme chercheur en philosophie de l'éducation, occupé par des travaux mettant en relation des questions de théorie sociale de la démocratie et de formation aux métiers de l'enseignement. Construit autour d'une sélection d'extraits du rapport, ce texte propose de réfléchir à l'image du métier d'enseigner qu'il véhicule et qui peut servir aujourd'hui d'inspiration et de ressource critique. L'accent est mis sur l'engagement social et local du métier, dont le rapport LEMO met en évidence la centralité en y consacrant des éléments de formation explicite et en formulant dans cette optique des qualifications ouvertement dédiées.
