Cronobacter sakazakii dalam Perspektif Kebijakan Keamanan Susu Formula

Abstract

Cronobacter sakazakii merupakan bakteri oportunistik yang menjadi perhatian global dalam keamanan pangan, khususnya terkait susu formula bayi. Infeksi akibat bakteri ini dapat menyebabkan sepsis, meningitis, dan enterokolitis nekrotikan, dengan angka fatalitas tinggi pada neonatus. Kontaminasi umumnya terjadi pada tahap produksi atau penyimpanan produk bubuk, karena Cronobacter mampu bertahan pada lingkungan kering. Meskipun kasus relatif jarang, dampak kesehatan yang ditimbulkan sangat serius. Dalam konteks kebijakan keamanan pangan, perlindungan konsumen rentan—terutama bayi prematur dan dengan sistem imun lemah—menjadi prioritas. Upaya pengendalian mencakup penerapan standar produksi ketat, pengawasan distribusi, serta edukasi kepada tenaga kesehatan dan orang tua mengenai penanganan susu formula yang aman.
