Geo-locations and System Data of Renewable Energy Installations in Germany

Abstract

Content The dataset contains geolocation and system data of renewable energy installations in Germany. It consists of geoJSON files with point geometries for onshore and offshore wind turbines, ground-mounted photovoltaic systems, bioenergy systems and associated combined heat and power plants, hydropower plants, renewable gas production sites, energy storage systems and a file with polygons for photovoltaic field systems. The dataset also includes the point data as a csv files.The data set is a site-verified data extract from the Marktstammdatenregister (Core energy market data register) (MaStR) of the Bundesnetzagentur (Federal Network Agency) (BNetzA) as of January 4, 2024. System-relevant information was additionally checked for plausibility and, if necessary, corrected by individual research work.
