Benthic foraminifera δ¹³C and δ¹⁸O records from IODP Site U1476 during the Piacenzian

Abstract

This dataset provides stable isotope (δ¹³C and δ¹⁸O) measurements from benthic foraminifera (Cibicidoides wuellerstorfi and other Cibicidoides/Uvigerina spp.) collected from sediments at IODP Site U1476 in the Mozambique Channel. Sediments were collected during the IODP Expedition 361: South African Climate (30 January–31 March 2016). Samples were prepared from the 250–355 µm fraction and analysed using a Finnigan MAT 253 with a Carbonate Kiel IV autosampler at the Stable Isotope Facility, School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Cardiff University (UK).

Keywords

Pliocene, Benthic foraminifera, Mozambique Channel, U1476, Indian Ocean
