We describe an exploratory study of the preservation of the Perseids Project (http://www.perseids.org/), an online platform that is being used to produce new forms of digital scholarship for the humanities. The goal was to determine what the needs for preserving the software platform were, via a set of questions that answered the who, what, when, how, and why. This is an archived version of the article that first appeared on the Perseids Blog https://sites.tufts.edu/perseids/2016/10/10/preserving-digital-scholarship-in-perseids-an-exploration/
