The monograph covers materials from the Slavic settlement of the 8th-10th centuries, the chronicle city of Zaruba and a synchronous burial ground, a settlement of the Zarubyntsy culture, as well as the Copper-Bronze Age and early Scythian times, discovered during long-term excavations of archaeological sites near the village of Monastyrek, Kansvsky District, Cherkasy Region. A comprehensive study of these materials made it possible to clarify the chronology of the settlements and express a new point of view on the features of the socio-economic development of the ancient Slavic settlement.
