Abstract

Reptil merupakan kelompok satwa yang menarik dan esensial sebagai bioindikator kesehatan ekosistem, mampu beradaptasi di berbagai habitat kering berkat sisik yang menutupi tubuhnya. Hewan berdarah dingin ini memegang peranan krusial dalam jaring makanan, baik sebagai predator maupun mangsa. Penelitian ini secara spesifik menguraikan ciri-ciri morfologi sepuluh spesies reptil, meliputi cicak terbang (Draco sumatranus) dengan patagiumnya, cicak rumah (Hemidactylus frenatus) yang memiliki bantalan jari lengket, ular tali (Dendrelaphis sp.) dan ular pucuk (Ahaetulla sp.) yang dibedakan dari sisik kepala dan jenis taringnya, kadal ekor panjang (Takydromus sexlineatus), labi-labi hutan (Dogania subplana) dengan tempurung lunaknya, kura-kura kotak Asia (Cyclemis dentata) dengan tempurung kerasnya, biawak air (Varanus salvator) sebagai predator penting, Gonocephalus klossi dengan tonjolan khas di atas mata, serta ular bangkai laut (Tropidolaemus waglerii) yang berbisa dan menunjukkan dimorfisme seksual. Data morfologi yang detail ini memperkaya pemahaman kita tentang keanekaragaman dan kontribusi ekologis reptil di alam. Setiap spesies reptil memiliki ciri morfologi, morfometrik dan meristik yang berbeda-beda dan khas. Perbedaan tersebut dapat dijadikan petunjuk dalam pengidentifikasian setiap spesies dan memudahkan dalam pembuatan kunci determinasi.
