Abstract

This article analyzes the importance of a competency-based approach in foreign language education. The competency-based approach is aimed at developing students' ability to use language in practice, improving their communicative skills, and stimulating the process of self-learning. The article presents the main principles of the competency-based approach, its role in the educational process, and recommendations for teachers.
