This repository includes the R code to reproduce the results in the paper "Reserves and trade jointly determine exposure to food supply shocks" (http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/11/9/095009) It implements a model that simulates the propagation of a food production shock via the global trade network. The model is initialized with cereals production and trade data from the FAO and cereals reserves data from USDA-PSD.
