
This presentation by Laura Fichtner from the University of Hamburg (UHAM), Germany provides an overview over the input and main discussion points of the sub-group on "Platform regulation and democratic platform governance" in the world café session on Social media platforms and (global) information governance that was hosted during the final PRODIGEES conference in 2025. The presentation also includes an introduction to a case study on the Marco Civil as one (successful) approach to democratic platform governance and to regulating content moderation on social media. The study was initiated during a PRODIGEES secondment in 2023.
