Resumo: Este artigo lança luz sobre os canais de circulação de bens culturais abertos por Jorge Amado após sua viagem, em 1937, pelos países americanos e que se refletiram na criação, em 1940, da coleção Estante Americana, da Editora Guaíra, de Curitiba. Os principais pontos abordados neste texto se referem às análises feitas por Amado acerca dos mercados editoriais do continente e seu papel na escolha das obras de autores hispano-americanos que seriam publicadas na coleção. Em um segundo momento, são discutidas a disseminação dos ideais pan-americanos e suas reinterpretações durante o Estado Novo. Por fim, são apresentadas as especificidades dos livros hispano-americanos publicados na coleção, o lugar ocupado por essas obras em seus países de origem e sua recepção no Brasil. Abstract: This article aims at shedding light on the conduits of circulation of cultural goods opened by Jorge Amado after his travel by the American countries in 1937 and which were reflected in the Estante Americana, an editorial collection created in 1940 by Editora Guaíra, Brazilian publisher founded in 1939 with headquarters in Curitiba. The main points addressed in this article refer to the analyses made by Amado about the continent's publishing markets and the works of the Hispanic American writers published in the editorial collection. The dissemination of the Pan American ideals and their reinterpretations during the period of the Estado Novo (1937-1945) will be also discussed. Finally, the specificities of the Hispanic American books published in the editorial collection, the place occupied by these works in their countries and their reception in Brazil will be presented.
