"Buchkindheiten digital" – Werkstattbericht zur computergestützten Analyse von Illustrationen in historischen Kinder- und Jugendbüchern

Abstract

Das Projekt "Buchkindheiten digital" hat das Ziel gesellschaftliche Umbrüche und ihre Darstellung in Illustrationen als essentiellen Bestandteil von Kinder- und Jugendliteratur sichtbar zu machen und ihre Verschiebungen im Verlauf des langen 19. Jahrhunderts nachzuzeichnen. Als Datengrundlage dient das Korpus Colibri, welches mehr als 11.000 Titel mit über 2,2 Millionen Einzelseiten umfasst. Dieser Beitrag beschreib einen Workflow zur computergestützten Analyse von illustrierten Buchseiten und fokussiert dabei insbesondere auf einen Ansatz zur Unterscheidung von illustrierten Buchseiten und reinen Textseiten, welcher eine wichtige Grundlage für die weiterführende inhaltliche Analyse darstellt.
