Editorial for Art Style Magazine Issue 15

Abstract

Editorial In this edition of Art Style Magazine, we explore the dynamic intersection of politics, identity, technology, and materiality in art. The featured articles reveal how both contemporary and historical artistic practices redefine our understanding of creation and representation. Daniela Mayer examines Hélio Oiticica’s work within queer cinematic politics, while Jesse D. Goodman discusses how artworks evolve over time, using Duchamp’s Étant donnés as a case study. Mei-Hsin Chen highlights AI’s transformative role in art, raising questions about originality and ethics. Veronica Gibson addresses the systemic barriers faced by Black students in design academia, advocating for mentorship and reform. Vanane Borian promotes a STEAM approach, merging art and science to tackle global challenges. Zheng Zeng focuses on the emotional resonance of ceramic clay in public art, emphasizing the balance between artistic expression and community engagement. This issue invites readers to reflect on art’s role in shaping society and identity, encouraging active participation in its unfolding narrative.
