Abstract

This report presents the candidate locations that have been assessed for the implementation of the technological solution for the MAELSTROM surface/water column cleaning system – Bubble Barrier – as well as the solar panels that supply it with renewable energy. A comparison between the locations is made according to a set of criteria to ensure that all tasks foreseen at the MAESLTROM project will be able to be carried out properly.The report indicates that the Ave River estuary, located in the District of Porto, is the preferred location for the board of partners of the MAELSTROM Consortium for the full implementation of the surface cleaning system and the solar panels.
