Presentation given by Yasemin Turkyilmaz-van der Velden on 8 November 2018 at SciDataCon-IDW 2018 in Gaborone, Botswana. This presentation is based on an abstract for a practice paper, which got selected to be presented at SciDataCon-IDW 2018. https://www.scidatacon.org/IDW2018/sessions/181/paper/619/ Abstract Authors: Yasemin Turkyilmaz-van der Velden, Maria Cruz, Marta Teperek Abstract Summary Data Stewardship is the oversight of the entire research data lifecycle, aiming to ensure that the right processes are put in place and appropriate decisions are made to make research datasets FAIR. As a consequence, FAIR data principles and Data Stewardship are terms that are increasingly used together. In this paper, we will introduce the Data Stewardship programme that has started in 2017 at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). A comprehensive overview of the Data Stewardship programme at TU Delft will be provided with emphasis on purpose, principles, progress, challenges and future prospects.
