The article considers and clarifies the basic concepts, defines the principles and functions of innovations, analyzes the first innovations in foreign hotels; factors that hamper the development of innovations in Russia are identified, author's classification of innovative technologies in the hospitality industry is compiled, an analysis of models of management of innovation processes in hotel activity is made, prospects for the development of innovative technologies in the hotel business are determined.
