Isotopic composition of the atmospheric water vapor during the austral summer at Concordia Station, Dome C, East Antarctica (December 2023 – February 2024)

Abstract

The dataset provides a 2.5-month record (December 6th 2023 – February 14th 2024) of the atmospheric water vapor isotopic composition at Concordia Station (Dome C, 75.10°S, 123.33°E, 3233 m a.s.l.) in East Antarctica. The atmospheric water vapor isotopic composition is measured by two different laser spectrometers: a L2130-i analyser, manufactured by PICARRO Inc. (CRDS measurement technique) and a prototype version of the ProCeas H2O analyser, manufactured by AP2E Inc. (OF-CEAS measurement technique). The instruments are installed in a heated facility 800m upwind from the main station buildings (75.10°S, 123.30°E). The inlet of the instrumental set-up is sampling the atmosphere from 50 cm above the snow surface. The dataset provides the hourly-averaged calibrated measurements from both laser spectrometers. The datetime column is in UTC (UTC+8 for local datetime). The timestamp represents the start of the hourly-averaged period. The humidity (mixing ratio) data has been calibrated against an independent humidity measurement and is reported in ppmv. The isotope data has been calibrated for the isotope-humidity dependency and against the VSMOW-SLAP scale and is reported in delta-notation (in ‰).

The file contains the hourly calibrated isotopic composition of the atmospheric water vapor at Dome C, from 2023.12.06 to 2024.02.14. The different columns correspond to the following: C1: datetime: datetime UTC C2: mr_Picarro[ppmv]: atmospheric mixing ratio measured, measured by the Picarro analyser (ppmv) C3: d18O_Picarro: delta-18O of water vapor, measured by the Picarro analyser (‰) C4: dD_Picarro: delta-D of water vapor, measured by the Picarro analyser (‰) C5: dxs_Picarro: deuterium-excess of water vapor, measured by the Picarro analyser (dxs = dD – 8*d18O, ‰) C6 to C9: same columns as C2 to C5 but measured by the AP2E analyser
