Abstract

Los Serious Games son juegos cuyo objetivo va más allá del puro entretenimiento, y pueden ser utilizados en el ámbito educativo y de la formación, para potenciar la interacción, el interés y motivación del alumnado por el aprendizaje, simular nuevas experiencias, permitiendo a los usuarios ser protagonistas de aventuras y situándoles ante problemas y situaciones que requieren, para su resolución, tomar decisiones. Para conocer si un Serious Game es eficaz en este ámbito, es necesario diseñar métricas adecuadas que permitan analizar estos juegos y recoger información de calidad del proceso de aprendizaje, del alumnado, en tiempo real. Con este propósito, se desarrolla el proyecto eConfidence financiado por la Unión Europea y cuyo objetivo principal es analizar los posibles beneficios de los Serious Games en el aprendizaje, el cambio de comportamientos y actitudes de los alumnos ante distintas situaciones conflictivas. En este capítulo pretendemos profundizar en la calidad y la eficacia de este tipo de juegos en el ámbito educativo, realizando en primer lugar, una aproximación teórica sobre los Serious Games en educación. A continuación nos centraremos en describir algunas métricas utilizadas en uno de los juegos diseñados en el contexto del proyecto eConfidence.
