Abstract

This work is part of a doctoral research project in the Graduate Program in Music (PPGMUS) at UFMG, and aims to promote the dissemination of part of the work of composer Glauco Velásquez (1884-1914) through the publication of a practical edition and sound recording of unpublished pieces for keyboard (piano and harmonium) by this composer. The Practical Edition, based on a comparative study of primary sources (autograph manuscripts and handwritten copies), will be referenced by the work of Carlos Alberto Figueiredo, Música sacra e religiosa brasileira dos século XVIII e XIX: teorias e práticas editoriais (2017). This work includes the updated catalog of the composer's keyboard works, prepared by one of the authors of this text, a brief historical context of the unpublished compositions, information about the proposed edition and, as appendices, our Practical Edition of Gavotta, followed by a QR Code for access to its interpretation by one of the authors of this text.
