Abc Da Saúde-Ensino Secundário

Abstract

The “ABC da Saúde-Ensino secundário” is a 32-page coloured book written in Portuguese by teachers of the Nutrition Course of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Lúrio University and illustrated by the Mozambican artist Justino António Cardoso. It has been produced thanks to the voluntary support also of professional graphic artists to be freely distributed to children of secondary schools and during nutritional campaigns in fairs or specific actions made by the Faculty of Health Sciences in the villages in Mozambique, and can be used anywhere the school language is Portuguese. This book teaches people to eat healthily in order to avoid obesity (a real plague of our time) and/or nutritional deficiencies by valuing the vitamin intake of fruits, vegetables and other foods consumed and available in the country. It teaches also respect for the environment and how to protect themselves from some diseases by simple actions or hygiene rules.
