
Fulgenta MacGowan, 2017 An endemic Afrotropical genus with 15 described species (MacGowan, 2023). In almost all cases only the males can be identified with certainty. Fulgenta complexa MacGowan, 2017 (Fulgenta): Région des Plateaux: 1 km distance from Adossou SE of Zogbégan (SE of Badou), at creek Olabè. 7.558N 0.6855E, 520m a.s.l., aspirated from fresh human excrement, 25.4.200 8, leg. M. Tschirnhaus, 1♂. Only previously known from the holotype collected in Cameroon in 1987 (MacGowan, 2017). Fulgenta plumosa MacGowan, 2017 (Fulgenta): Région des Plateaux: Lomnava NE of Huimé (NE of Kpalimé), 7.0163N 0.6794E, 295m a.s.l., plantation (cocoa, banana), aspirated from spittle droplets on leaves attracting flies, 18.4.200 8, leg. M. Tschirnhaus, 1♂. Only previously known from five males captured in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon between 1936 and 2010 (MacGowan, 2017). Fulgenta saegeri MacGowan, 2017 (Fulgenta): Région des Plateaux: Lomnava NE of Huimé (NE of Kpalimé), 7.0163N 0.6794E, 295m a.s.l., plantation (cocoa, banana), aspirated from spittle droplets on leaves attracting flies, 18.4.200 8, leg. M. Tschirnhaus, 1♂. Only previously known from four males collected in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1951 and 1952 (MacGowan, 2017).
