Iranian Gateway for Scientific, Research and, Technological Information

Abstract

Sources of Scientific, Research, and Technological Information in Iran (Pajoheshgar) serve as a valuable resource for university students and researchers both inside and outside the country. The subsidiary goals include identifying, categorizing, improving the presentation methods, and enhancing access to the most credible scientific, research, and technological online resources at the national level. This research has been conducted using library and website study methods, as well as system design. The information collection tool was a checklist created from the necessary metadata for inclusion in the database. A total of 203 scientific, research, and technological information sources in Iran were identified and evaluated according to the quality assessment criteria of the present research and were placed in the system. The thematic categorization of the selected sources includes six main subjects: basic sciences, medical sciences, engineering and technical sciences, agriculture and veterinary sciences, humanities, arts and architecture, along with their subsidiary topics. The categorization of sources was based on type, including (publication, thesis/dissertation, research project report, scientific conference, library, patent registration, lecture, short-term training course, scientific association, university library). Through this portal, users can find websites relevant to their research and investigation needs. This system is the first information gateway for scientific, research, and technological information in Iran, significantly assisting users in obtaining valuable information more quickly and accurately.
