Abstract

El cementoma es un tumor benigno de origen mesenquimatoso de crecimiento ilimitado, que puede presentar sintomatología, revelado a través de las imágenes radiográficas. Se describió el manejo clínico de un paciente diagnosticado con un cementoma. Se realizaron estudios complementarios como radiografía y tomografía. En la cirugía se realizó el abordaje mediante una incisión tipo Newman modificada, decolado mucoperióstico, ostectomía de la tabla vestibular para luego acceder al tumor, eliminando el hueso que lo cubría. Los resultados del tratamiento en el caso clínico presentado fueron óptimos, con una buena evolución de la zona con tejidos blandos en perfecto estado de cicatrización. Este tipo de lesión es frecuente y no presenta dificultad el procedimiento de enucleación, se debe realizar un estudio histopatológico para confirmar el diagnóstico de la lesión y descartar malignidad.
