Ficus chiribiquetensis Dugand, Caldasia 2: 375. 1944. Lectotype (designated here): — COLOMBIA. Vaupés, Río Macaya, Cerro Chiribiquete, 16 May 1945, Schultes 5445 (COL-15345!; isolectotypes: COL-15343!, COL-15344!, COL-15346!, SI!, US!). Nomenclatural notes:— In the protologue, there is no reference to which specimen in the herbarium COL is the type of F. chiribiquetensis is. There are four preparations from a single gathering (Schultes 5445) with no clear indication on the label whether these are parts of the same specimen (Turland et al. 2018, Art. 8.3). Therefore, they are considered four duplicates and we designate Schultes 5445 (COL-15345) as the lectotype because it contains branches, leaves, syconia, and stipules. Taxonomical notes:— The currently accepted name for this taxon is Ficus americana subsp. guianensis.
