Sorbus sargentiana Koehne (1913: 461) Type:— CHINA. Sichuan: “Western Szechuan, Pan-lan-Shan, west of Kuan Hsien” [Dujiangyan], woodlands, alt. 7–9500 ft., Jun. 1908, E. H. Wilson 3011 [A-00046056!, lectotype (designated here); isolectotypes BM-000602086!, E-00010878!, US-00097479!]. Homotypic synonym:— Pyrus sargentiana (Koehne) Bean (1933: 327). Three gatherings, Wilson 3011, 887 and 4207, were cited in the protologue and none of them was indicated as the holotype, therefore all are syntypes. Among them, Wilson 3011 is a flowering gathering and the others are fruiting specimens. Here, the flowering specimen of Wilson 3011 at A is designated as the lectotype owing to the better quality and the existing duplicates of the gathering.
