Abstract

Wikipedia propone alcuni nomi in riferimento alla gens Statoria. Manca Sextus Statorius. Il nome viene da inscrizione su cippo relativo a proprietà fondiaria, rinvenuto ad Alpignano, presso Torino. L'epigrafe è stata studiata da G. Mennella. Si sottolinea che Mennella è stato il primo a geolocalizzare il cippo e studiare l'iscrizione in relazione alla Colonia Augusta Taurinorum. Il prof. Mennella è stato il primo in assoluto, contrariamente a quanto apparso su La Stampa di Torino nel 2020, in un articolo a firma P. Bianucci. Nell’iscrizione si dice che Sextus era figlio di Publio, per cui dobbiamo aggiungere alla lista anche un Publius Statorius. Ma non solo, c’è anche una lapide funeraria veramente bella ed interessante, quella con il nome di Lucio Statorio Batillo, decorata con l’archipendolo ed il compasso, oggi a Bologna. Da letteratura relativa, vediamo che Statorius è reso con Statorio. E vi è anche una lapide dalla colonia di Gallieno a Milano, ed una da Parma, col nomen Statorius/Statoria. A riguardo della geolocalizzazione del cippo fatta da G.Mennella, relative mappe, anche di elevazione TessaDEM, saranno fornite.
