Abstract

Thymus longicaulis C.Presl var. freynii Ronniger (1924b: 387) Type (lectotype, designated here):— ITALY. In ditione Neapol. Caserta, a herbidis, 24 April 1898, Haussknecht C. s.n. ex Flora Neapolitana (JE barcode JE00011441! [digital photo] lower specimen, isolectotype JE barcode JE00011440! [digital photo]; image of the lectotyope is available at https://plants.jstor.org/stable/10.5555/al.ap.specimen. je00011441). Protologue citation:—“Chiadino (Arendes; Herb. Bornm.); Dalmatien: Zara sonnige Triften; Halbinsel Lapad bei Ragusa; Castelnuovo; Cattaro, Einchenwalder bei Tolpa (Bornm, iter 1886); Montenegro Karsthange bei Njegus (Bornm 1886); Italia; Caserta (Haussknecht)”. Taxonomic notes:— Thymus longicaulis var. freynii is a heterotypic synonym of Th. longicaulis C.Presl subsp. longicaulis.
