Aristolochia punjabensis Lace 1911

Abstract

Aristolochia punjabensis Lace (1911: 273) Type (lectotype, designated here):— INDIA. Chamba: Himachal Pradesh, Bre Forest, elevation 1980 m, 19 May 1897, J. H. Lace 1543 (K 000820407!). Note:—When Lace (1911) described this species, he cited three specimens without designating the holotype: J. H. Lace 1543 (K 000820407), J. H. Lace s.n. (K 000820408), and G. S. Hart 531 (K 000820409). The collection number “ G. S. Hart 538 ” on sheet K 000820409 is not matching the protologue. Among the remaining two specimens that show clearer diagnostic characters, we select as lectotype the specimen “ J. H. Lace 1543” with a complete individual bearing open flowers. Additional specimens examined: — INDIA. Chamba: Himachal Pradesh, Gothan Forest, elevation 1829 m, April 1898, J. H. Lace s.n. (K000820408!); Kangra, Kotharna, elevation 1980 m, 5 May 1901, G. S. Hart 538 (K000820409!).
