Abstract

Sphaeroma tuberculatum Brocchi, 1875 and Sphaeroma tuberculatum George in Purushotham & Rao, 1971 [Sphaeromatidae] Remarks: Sphaeroma tuberculatum Brocchi, 1875 (originally Spheroma tuberculata) is the senior primary homonym of Sphaeroma tuberculatum George in Purushotham & Rao, 1971. Purushotham & Rao, 1971 quoted George’s (1963) dissertation text and used his figure so authorship is George’s and the latter name needs to be replaced. The name Sphaeroma multituberculatum nom. nov. is introduced here for George’s species.
