Impacto ambiental de la Inteligencia Artificial

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has significantly impacted various sectors but also poses important environmental challenges. This paper explores the effects of AI on the environment, addressing issues such as the energy consumption associated with training and operating AI models, carbon footprint, electronic waste generation, and impact on biodiversity. It examines current practices, emerging strategies to mitigate these impacts, and provides recommendations for promoting more sustainable development. The study concludes that while AI offers opportunities to enhance efficiency and sustainability in other areas, it is essential to implement policies and technologies that reduce its environmental impact. The research underscores the need for global collaboration and an integrated approach to align technological progress with environmental goals.
