Cerambyx cardinalis was described based on a single specimen from Brazil. Perty (1832) described Gnoma purpurea based on a single specimen from Brazil (Minas Gerais). Lingafelter et al. (2017) recorded this species from Bolivia (Santa Cruz), a country not listed in Monné (2024a). Material examined. BRAZIL, Mato Grosso do Sul (new state record): Campo Grande, Pioneiros, Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul, Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural, 20°30’32.3”S 54°36’57.4”W, 551 m, 1 specimen (ZUFMS-COL-00617), 2015, no collector indicated (ZUFMS).
