
(Uploaded by Plazi for the Bat Literature Project) A new and large species of disk-winged bat of the genus Thyroptera Spix, sympatric with Thyroptera tricolor Spix, is named and described from the Departamento de Loreto, Peru. Morphological characters separating the new species from currently recognized species of Thyroptera are presented and characters which have been previously used to characterize these latter species are discussed and evaluated.
