Thymus pallescens De Noé in Bory & Durieu, Expl. Sci. Algérie [Atlas]: t. 66.1. 1849. Ind. Loc.: none [Algérie]. Type (lectotype here designated):—[Algérie] Thymus pallescens De Noé in Bory de Saint-Vincent & Durieu de Maisonneuve (1849: t. 66.1) (https://bibdigital.rjb.csic.es/viewer/12937/?offset=#page=68) Nomenclatural notes:— Thymus pallescens is validly published (Arts 38.7, 38.8, 38.9 of the ICN; Turland et al. 2018) by an illustration with analysis consisting of the drawing of a flowering branch, the details of the ventral view of the calyx, and of the lateral view of a complete flower. No suitable original specimens were found. For this reason, we here designate the plate 66.1 of the Atlas of the “Exploration scientifique de l’Algérie pendant les années 1840, 1841, 1842” by Bory de Saint-Vincent & Durieu de Maisonneuve (1849) as the lectotype of the name.
