Analysis of the effectiveness of using Thai boxing funds to improve the physical condition of students in sectional occupations

Abstract

The substantiation of the program of sectional classess with the use of Thai boxing means is presented in the article. The purpose of this program is to increase the level of physical health of students. The training program included theoretical, practical and control sections. In accordance with the content of the theoretical section, students received theoretical information about Thai boxing, organization of separate physical training and sports, studied the features of control and self-control when doing physical exercises. The practical section envisaged the study of technical and tactical actions of Thai boxing, general and special physical training. The content of the training program and the intensity of physical activity were selected in accordance with the level of physical health of young men – low, below average, average. Constantly conducted operational and current monitoring of students` physical condition. The planning system for the program of sectional studies provided for two periods – preparatory and basic, each of which had its duration and direction. The preparatory period lasted two months, at this stage the initial level of physical health of students was determined and the distribution of boys to subgroups was carried out in accordance with the results obtained. In the main period, students studied the techniques and tactics of Thai boxing, participated in sparring, conditional-free fights, increased the level of physical fitness, functional indicators and physical health. The duration of the main period was six months. The results of the study confirm the effectiveness of the developed program of sectional classes to improve the health of students: the number of young men with a low level of physical health decreased, and increased with the average and above the average. The obtained data allow to draw a conclusion about the possibility of using the Thai boxing means in the sectional classes of students to improve the level of health.
