tci20130927-06 - Old times

Abstract

This dataset contains files recorded during a sago harvest. After cutting down and chopping the sago palm, Caspar Mokai and Marua Bai sit down and make conversation. Marua Bai tells old time stories. The video is purely observational. It was recorded in Rouku village, Western Province, Papua New Guinea. The dataset includes: audio file (tci20130927v-06.wav) - extracted from the video file for transcription video file (tci20130927v-06.mpeg) transcription file (tci20130927v-06.eaf) Note that the transcription file in this record is not up to date! For an updated version of this file, please download the most recent version of the Komnzo text corpus as a zip-file under 10.5281/zenodo.1306246 The material was recorded by Christian Döhler as part of a language documentation project for his PhD. The project was located at the School of Culture, History and Language at the Australian National University, Canberra. For the most part it was funded by the DOBES project of the Volkswagen Foundation.
