
The increasing popularity of social media platforms like TikTok extends beyond mere entertainment,presenting untapped potential in the realm of education, particularly for learning English as a Second Language(ESL). Traditional language learning methods often struggle to fully engage learners, limiting their exposure toauthentic language use and practical application. This study examines how TikTok can serve as a valuable tool forenhancing ESL learning. By analyzing TikTok's capabilities, we identify its potential benefits in providing learnerswith exposure to authentic language use, offering opportunities to practice language skills, and fostering acommunity of language learners. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the findings suggest that TikTok can effectivelycomplement traditional language learning methods, offering a fun and engaging way for learners to improve theirlanguage proficiency. The integration of TikTok into ESL instruction can significantly enhance student engagement,improve language skills through authentic exposure and practice, and build a supportive learning community.Furthermore, TikTok's adaptable format allows for personalized and accessible learning experiences tailored tovarious proficiency levels and learning styles. The commercialization potential of this approach is substantial, withopportunities for developing subscription-based courses, partnering with educational influencers, creatinginteractive learning modules, and integrating TikTok content into existing language learning apps. By leveragingTikTok's vast user base and interactive features, educational businesses can create innovative products that meet theevolving needs of language learners in the digital age. However, further research is needed to fully understand andmaximize TikTok's potential as a language-learning tool.
