Melanagromyza symphyti Griffiths, 1963 Material examined: 1♂, Malta: Qormi, Wied il-Kbir, 22 May 1995, JCD leg. & det. (NMWC). In the West Palaearctic this is mainly a northern and central European species. It is found also in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. New record for the Maltese Islands.
