Abstract

Callia terminata sp. nov. (Fig. 3) Etimologia: Latim, terminatus = terminado; alusivo ao colorido dos élitros com ponta preta. Cabeça preta com fronte e faixa longitudinal no vértice, alaranjadas. Antenômeros I-VIII pretos; IX e XI brancos com ápice preto; X inteiramente branco. Protórax alaranjado. Esternos mesotorácicos e fêmures, menos a ponta, avermelhados. Tíbias e tarsos pretos. Esternos metatorácicos e urosternitos preto-avermelhados. Escapo subcilíndrico. Pronoto com pubescência amarelo-dourada densa, mais concentrada numa faixa transversal no meio, prolongada em faixa pelo centro do pronoto até a base. Élitros com estreita região basal e quarto apical, pretos. Pubescência elitral amarelada e densa no terço apical. Fêmures fusiformes. Face ventral com pubescência esbranquiçada. Dimensões em mm, holótipo macho: Comprimento total, 5,5; comprimento do protórax, 1,0; maior largura do protórax, 1,4; comprimento do élitro, 3,8; largura umeral, 1,7. Material-tipo: Holótipo macho, VENEZUELA, Falcón: Yaracal, 12.II.1984, W. Kozeny col. (MIZA). Discussão: Pelos élitros bicolores, Callia terminata sp. nov. é discriminada no item 5 da chave (Galileo & Martins, 2002) junto com Callia divisa e Callia apyra. Difere de C. divisa pelos lados da cabeça pretos; pelos antenômeros II a VII não anelados na base; pelos élitros com a declividade basal e o terço apical pretos; pelos fêmures com os ápices pretos e pelas tíbias unicolores, pretas. Em C. divisa a cabeça é inteiramente alaranjada, os antenômeros II a VII têm anel basal amarelado, a declividade basal dos élitros é alaranjada e a metade apical é preta, os fêmures são inteiramente alaranjados e a base das tíbias é alaranjada. Difere de Callia apyra pelos lados da cabeça pretos; pelo antenômero IX branco com ponta preta; pelo pronoto com pubescência densa, amarelo-dourada; pela declividade basal dos élitros preta e pela pubescência do terço apical dos élitros densa. Em Callia apyra a cabeça é alaranjada, o antenômero IX é branco, o pronoto é praticamente glabro, a declividade basal dos élitros é amarelada e o terço apical dos élitros tem pubescência muito esparsa.
