Abstract

La producción de chocolate es una actividad importante para el mercado brasileño, por lo que este artículo trata sobre la industria brasileña de cacao y chocolate, destacando su posición como el 7º mayor productor mundial y el notable aumento de las exportaciones de chocolate, que alcanzaron los US$ 142 millones en 2022. El enfoque principal es el análisis de la factibilidad de la exportación sostenible, explorando prácticas como la siembra sostenible, los sistemas agroforestales y el método "Cacao Cabruca". La investigación presenta la historia del cacao, destacando su trayectoria desde las civilizaciones precolombinas hasta nuestros días. Se presentan empresas como Dengo y AMMA Chocolate, pioneras en la adopción de prácticas sostenibles y en la inserción del chocolate sostenible brasileño en el mercado internacional. Basándose en una revisión de la literatura, el estudio utiliza métodos exploratorios y cuantitativos, presentando datos, cifras y tablas detallados para proporcionar un análisis exhaustivo de la industria, explorar oportunidades y destacar ejemplos tangibles de sostenibilidad.

Chocolate production is an important activity for the Brazilian market, so this article deals with the Brazilian cocoa and chocolate industry, emphasizing its position as the 7th largest global producer and the notable increase in chocolate exports, which reached US$ 142 million in 2022. The main focus is the analysis of the feasibility of sustainable export, exploring practices such as sustainable planting, agroforestry systems and the "Cabruca Cocoa" method. The research presents the history of cacao, highlighting its trajectory from pre-Columbian civilizations to the present day. Companies such as Dengo and AMMA Chocolate are presented, which are pioneers in the adoption of sustainable practices and in the insertion of Brazilian sustainable chocolate in the international market. Drawing on a literature review, the study uses exploratory and quantitative methods, presenting detailed data, figures, and tables to provide a thorough analysis of the industry, explore opportunities, and highlight tangible examples of sustainability.

A produção de chocolates é uma atividade importante para o mercado brasileiro, logo este artigo trata da indústria brasileira de cacau e chocolate, enfatizando sua posição como o 7º maior produtor global e o aumento notável nas exportações de chocolate, que atingiram US$ 142 milhões em 2022. O foco principal é a análise da viabilidade da exportação sustentável, explorando práticas como o plantio sustentável, sistemas agroflorestais e o método "Cacau Cabruca". A pesquisa apresenta a história do cacau, destacando sua trajetória desde as civilizações pré-colombianas até os dias atuais. São apresentadas empresas como Dengo e AMMA Chocolate, que são pioneiras na adoção de práticas sustentáveis e na inserção do chocolate sustentável brasileiro no mercado internacional. Baseando-se em uma revisão bibliográfica, o estudo utiliza métodos exploratórios e quantitativos, apresentando dados detalhados, figuras e tabelas para fornecer uma análise completa da indústria, explorar oportunidades e destacar exemplos tangíveis de sustentabilidade.
