This is a lecture that starts with the basic ideas of Open Science and then provides a Kickstarter overview for researchers at Philipps-Universität Marburg. The content initially focuses on the question “Why Open Science?”, in the first part with a brief introduction to the “Publish or Perish” principle. The second part explains what Open Science entails and how this movement opposes the “publish or perish” principle. In the third part, some methods and tools are presented along the "Open Science Rainbow" with links to the corresponding services at Philipps-Universität Marburg.
